Hello! I'm Jenna Scott. Since I was a child, I have had a passion for juvenile rights and advocating for children. This passion led me to become an attorney. I graduated from Emory Law in 2020. While attending Emory, I focused my studies on children’s advocacy and took many courses including child welfare and education law. I also worked representing foster children in court. Then, I had my first child, who was born with many special needs. I immediately had to use the skills I had learned as an attorney and my passion for children’s rights to fight for him every day. I learned how to navigate many complex systems and research issues to get my child the best possible results. As I learned the system and jumped through the hoops, I became passionate about helping other parents learn to do the same. Now, I work full-time as a special needs advocate, guiding families through the special education process, disability supports, and care systems to help their children thrive.
As a devoted mother to a child with special needs, I understand firsthand the unique challenges and triumphs that come with navigating the world of disabilities. It is my mission to support and empower families with special needs children to ensure their child receives the care, rights, and opportunities they deserve.
While I have a legal background, I do not provide legal advice or representation in this role. Instead, I use my legal training and lived experience to offer compassionate, knowledgeable advocacy and support. My legal background enables me to understand this complex and sometimes broken system and provide valuable guidance, support, and advice to families in various aspects of special needs advocacy.
Being a special needs mom has profoundly shaped my perspective and deepened my commitment to this field. I understand the joys and challenges of raising a child with special needs, and I am passionate about sharing my experiences and insights with other families. My personal journey has equipped me with a unique empathy and understanding that enhances my advocacy efforts.
My advocacy philosophy is centered around creating pathways to possibility for families with special needs children. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. I work collaboratively with families to develop comprehensive strategies and individualized plans that address the unique needs of each child.
I am here to be your advocate, your ally, and your source of support. Together, we can navigate the challenges, celebrate the victories, and create a more inclusive and compassionate world for our kids.
